Focus or "Look At Me"
The focus cue teaches your dog to make eye contact with you, helping them tune out distractions and stay engaged. This skill is invaluable in overwhelming or high-stress situations, such as encountering another dog during a walk or managing your dog in a busy area. A solid focus helps redirect their attention to you, building trust and keeping them calm.
Different people use different cues, some say “Focus”, some say “Look at me”, some say “Watch Me”… it really doesn’t matter what name you call the cue as long as you’re consistent (I once saw a dog who was trained to listen to Harry Potter Spells as cues!)
